This book is made of four stories filled with humour and fantasy. The name of the book comes from the tale about vampire Vladimir’s unusual birthday party with his friends, Mornia, the Werewolf, Frankenstein’s monster and the Absentminded Witch. “The Genie and the Wise Men” is a Christmas story about how the Three Wise Men unexpectedly meet a strange potbellied genie. The third story, “The Abominable Snowman” tells the adventures of Indiana Zambo in far-off Tibet, where he has gone in search of the Yeti, the only creature that will attract enough visitors to Barcelona Zoo to stop it from closing. The last tale, “The Ghost of the Pirate Ship” is a classic pirate story. They are short and amusing stories, with no message or morals, and where there is always a twist to the ending. The numerous illustrations, produced using a computer, reflect the text’s imaginative and caricatural tone.
